Couturier / Artist
About
Michaela is an artist and couturier based in London. Her main practice is to create custom, one-off corsetry and Couture pieces that are designed to sculpt and disfigure the body.
Each piece that Michaela creates is very specifically tailored and created using couture techniques. She often uses delicate silks, hand dyed fabrics and intricate embellishment. Each piece has been designed and tailored to fit and celebrate the body of the intended wearer – whether that be herself or client.
Michaela's diffusion line, Panty, takes this same approach and ethos to her artisanal work but in a much more wearable way.
Michaela also works in editorial as a stylist, creative director and / or model, having her work published in Vogue Italia, New York Times, Dazed, Perfect Magazine, Paper Magazine, Document Journal, Luncheon Magazine, Vogue Australia, Vogue Russia, Vogue CS, Vogue Ukraine and featured on NYT, The Cut, iD, Another Mag, 1 Granary, Harpers Bazaar UK, Vogue US, Vogue UK etc.
